Another belly flop shatters the moonlight By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
A dolphin leapt over the moon--
and pierced its reflection.
Then the surface experienced
a double ejection.
Two killer whales
were chasing a shark,
to the dark side of the moon
where it's always nice and dark.
Fifty thousand manic minnows
swimming toward the light.
Lightly salted sardines
try to keep it tight.
Somehow the whales eat them,
and yes, it never fails.
You know they are content
when they are wagging their tails.
Another belly flop
shatters the moonlight.
They reassemble
as a giant pool of light--
Drops of light fall down
just like rain,
until another finned creature
decides to do it again.
