If i ask you to tell me something about yourself
Don't tell me how old you are or how much you weigh, they are just numbers
Don't tell me about what people say about you, they are just adjectives, the kind of words that don't last forever
Instead tell me about the things that keep your heart pounding
And the reasons why you lie awake at night
Tell me about the moments that give you butterflies in your stomach, or what are the things you do that lights up a fire in your eyes
Tell me about your smile, those curved lips, what's the reason behind it?
Or would you rather talk about the tears that rolled in your cheeks when you thought no one noticed
Tell me the things that make you go crazy or the ones that caused you so much pain
What makes you laugh and cry at the same time, would you mind if they think you're insane?
Now you know what I wanted to hear..
I want you tell me that you're not here just because you survived,
Prove to me that you've got a heart and a soul,
Show me you're alive
