I can't keep this in anymore,
There's no honor is authority,
Just another black kid, right?
Overlooked for being the minority.
It's time to acknowledge,
That something's not right,
How is a system meant to protect us,
Making us want to put up a fight?
By any means necessary, no,
Kill them with kindness,
Is there really a proper way,
To sense light in a society suffering from blindness?
Blame the unarmed,
And protect the unjust, ill minded,
Is this the oath,
Uniformed men have confided?
It could've been me,
Turning from a raised gun,
Because the color of my skin,
Is enough tomake me run.
It could've been me,
Cuffed and restrained,
My life beaten out of me,
Only for the news to drag my name.
Stop the blindness.
