I sit alone in my dark dingy room,
Reminiscing my life, before my hired bridegroom.
Feeling sorry for myself, there's nothing to cheer,
But sitting here just swilling cold beer.
What times were had in every such ways,
The house, the car and expensive holidays.
I loved her in the mornings when she started to sing,
On a Sunday at eight, my breakfast she'd bring.
We met on a Friday at "Casa De Martin",
She crossed my table, such elegance I seen.
She stopped and looked over her left shoulder,
At times like this, I wish I was bolder.
Her come on eyes was to my surprise,
Her heels, her legs, my hypnotise.
Her curvature body, raised my eye brow,
I couldn't resist, I wanted her now.
Well that's how it all started way back at that time,
And everywhere we went, was a sparkling white wine.
Our gazing stares, they couldn't pull us apart,
I told all my friends, she's here in my heart.
I take a sip from my glass as I look back,
And thought how could he, my trusty friend Jack.
He must have been seeing her, I hasten to say,
‘cause he took her away on a rain sodden day.
I wasn't quite sure, my mind should have listened,
When I looked at her ring, it just never glistened.
I was saddened by what had happened, sickened and slackened,
My reputation was blackened my soul it was darkened.
I take a sip from my glass, and wipe both my lips,
Cant straighten my face, from my chin the beer drips.
I didn't imagine this knife full of sorrow,
That's stabbing my heart and my blood it does boil.
I am so tired, I can't even sleep,
She keeps me awake, I'm in it knee deep.
For a girl like her, once again I won't find,
Will I be alone? I'm going out my mind.
I take a sip from my glass, my memory so vivid,
The more I think of her, the more I feel livid.
The things that keeps that girl so near,
Is the sip from my glass and the tears in my beer.
