The Ravens are a new semipro team.
Younger kids coming up
Genoa City Wisconsin
Surrey BC, Salt Lake City Utah
Airdrie AB and eleven local kids
Half the roster of the more established teams
and yet they are competing well
16 to 20 years old mixed with college kids
Three goalees making for many double shifts
Won game against last years champions 4-2
This weekend lost two close games to Eugene Oregon
Bigger kids some bullying going on
Grandson is sixteen youngest playing with broken vertebrae
Hit hard from behind in the boards
Six foot three 240 hit him from the back
Skated up and said, "You want to drop the gloves?"
Oh, he is one tough guy, "You are a little team"
Ryan answered, "I am a little tired right now.
I am here to play hockey--we have players coming."
Seconds later big boy was a little rummy picking himself
up from hitting the boards on a clean hit
Did I mention Ryan is a martial arts black belt?
Lost 5-4 and 2-1 it is a long season they well play again
Oh ,and goon stayed away from Ryan he leads team in penalties
Fun part, some kids saw Ryan take on the bully
Game over they greeted him at the gate. Ryan taken aback
New fans for the team they wanted his autograph
one kid asking him for his stick. "I am poor kid,But thank
you for coming to my game and supporting me" first
year up from midget hockey he is so far doing well
The hockey played is much more physical but he is 16
