They warned you about days like this,
About days in which smiling and living are chores,
About days in which the sadness tugs on
Your already heavy heart.
They warned you,
But you never listened,
For you were happy and careless,
Free of the burden of loss and anger.
They warned you.
They said, 'There will be days where
You will not want to wake up,
But you must get through them,
You must,'
Although you didn't bother paying attention.
They warned you-
They really did,
And now you are lying in bed,
Knotted hair sprawled across unwashedsheets,
Unable to get up,
Unable to be yourself.
They warned you about days like this.
