Him, telling white lies
While the only sound in the hollow cave is her cries.
Her, telling the blunt truth
But no one giving her a second glance.
The young child believes
That this world can still be saved.
He didn't know how wrong he was.
The naive teenager,
Marking her arms with wine
Like one would make budget in cloud nine.
The scarred adult,
Hoping and praying for a miracle.
Alas,
Not all wishes come true.
Our flawed society still believes
In a better present, in a better future.
But can we really be saved?
Do heroes even exist?
I hope they do,
Because all we need in our lives
Is that one person who can save us all.
