It's the moon in its denouement
and all thatfollows
It's the ink that bleeds
the joy and the sorrow
It's the thoughts that I think
and the need to relieve
It's the passion and the terror
this desire and its longing need
It's the restlessness pulling my hair
and directing me to the stars
It's the quietness of night
and a symphony in the dark
It's the moonlight sonata
in this room where I breath
It's the simplicity on the surface
but the pit so deep beneath
It's the way the water sees without eyes
and hears without ears
It's the wanting for that
and the purging of fears
It's this fire and the things it consumes
and the way it cleanses
It's all of this
and so many others;
the reasons why I write
