she looked for the truth
inside a bottle of rain
her truth and the world's
weren't the same
an ill sense of self-worth
revealing her plight
the stars in her eyes
fading in the night
a stranger to the mirror
she cries out her pleas
with her primal yearnings
feeding the disease
with a twisted world view
skewed by her tears
fresh out of precious time
and running on fear
a soul needs another soul
to feel complete
a heart needs another heart
...to beat
