Summer Days by the Lake (Another Tribute to Someone I Love) By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
let's go to the lake,
he said,
we'll go swimming all day,
digging our toes into the soft mud
and making delicate ripples on
the water's shiny glass surface
okay,
i replied,
but you don't know how to swim
you can teach me!
i'm sure you're a great teacher
the water's very deep here,
and the current's mighty strong
don't worry
i'm sure i'll pick it up fast
so, you just have to kick your legs
back and forth
treading water
while keeping your head
above the water
do not suck in lake water
its bad for the body
