Welcome to My Poetry Site

The old mine road abandoned,
Many years ago.
It winds along the river,
Past the long forgotten fields.
The homesteads gone,
A weathered barn remains.

The trees line the old road,
Up to the very edge,
And hang over the pathway,
To form a tunnel if you will.

The beech tree leaves,
The burning oaks,
some sugar maples too,
Scattered all about.

Half past autumn,
The colors bright,
begin to fall away...
Blanketing the trail.

No sound they make,
Still moist with life,
quiet under foot.

To walk along the the old road,
Surrounded by the fall,
the colored leaves...
the sights..
the sounds....
My greatest peace of all.
