I once lived with the sun By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
I once lived with the sun
drifted upon its molten waves
in a sea ofliquid fire
spurts of golden flames
lifted me miles into the air
sailed through its amber skies
the fiery horizon before my eyes
and I began to fall again
faster and faster until
I plunged through the surface
the heat was a shock, yetrefreshing
as if diving into an icy lake
on a cold cold day
deeper and deeper I went
a milliondegrees and rising
even dragons would burn
and I came upon a ledge
there grew the most brilliant flowers
white petals and soft golden leaves
I discovered a magnificent cave
from which myriad hues shone
emanating from a great stone
the very origin of Color
suddenly I felt an upward current
rapidly accelerating until
I was going the speed of light
out into the cold dark of space
and in a moment's time
my sun became a star
I drifted far far away
and landed on a distant planet
here I sit, with a candle before me
which seems bright and warm
but only because all else is dark
I gaze into the little flame
but think only about the sun
for how could anything
ever compare.
