sublimation occurs:
death brushes in strokes,
not entirely
its cousin, sleep
is impartial, and only evades.
the banners of wind
assist raindrops
that tip-toe;
then unsettle,
rolling into oblivion.
i lay awake, prolonged moments,
think of death and sleep,
and unspent tears.
