moon smiling By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
moon smiling at me this morning
before the moorings broke
on a cool dawn of indifference.
heart-break-heart-attack
heartaches stacked as high as the ceiling.
unfeeling guns drawn; long knives –
last night spent lying sleepless
long night absent dreams of peace.
the ghost of old headaches linger.
along a lonely hallway
down the stone steps with shallow risers
where the moon waits, smiling.
