Will anybody miss me
if I cease to be?
Will a single tear
be shed at my memory?
Will anybody notice
if I wasn't here?
Would my absence be felt
if I disappeared?
I'm afraid to know the answers.
I'm afraid to know the truth
that if died tomorrow
it'd take days before the news reached you.
That I haven't made a difference,
that I've done nothing for another,
and that my obituary
will read just like any other:
"Here and then not,"
"Known but soon forgot,"
"Dug deep and left to rot,"
"Laying in some inconspicuous spot."
And it's no one's fault by my own;
I'm a ghost of a person,
haunting my days like a specter,
until the days Ifinally become one.
I should've been nicer,
I should've been kind.
I should'veinvested
more love into their lives.
I'll be just another drop
in a hurricane of life;
dull, lifeless, and talentless,
I've lived as I'll die -
In the background,
without a noise.
