I know the cold days
They brittle your bones
You sat by the fire
Stoic as a stone
You heard me walk in slow
A wife who doesn't turn
Has a heart which slowly burns
You know what I had done
I was under the light of sun
When I stopped that heart
He was young
He was strong
But he meant wrong
A hand can push a button
To end it all
Very easily
Doesn't mean I wouldn't want to stop it peacefully
But all I wanted to say
Was how beautiful you looked today
Look at not what I done
I love the warmth of the midday sun
When that light hits your face
You feel purified laced with a kind embrace
Pure like I knew I had once been
Before my life started sinning
The horses moved at night
I knew vengeance was on sight
Would I draw
Or let them drain me dry
Its easy to say
I will fight till I die
On my knees I prayed
And heard the cocking gun
I look up at someone
Don't let this be petty vengeance
For what I done
Pure now like I had been
Seems I've found a friend
