Listen to my blood boiling, pet,
Stir it frothy well with my bones.
Yes, something stirred from deep inside of me,
Something fighting to break free.
Listen to the click, click timer
Of a heart that prophesies my fate,
I'm a corroded, fleshy pipe of water about to burst,
I'm an almost song composed of weary hate.
And you gave it to me, my darling dear,
With a laugh and a wink and an outstretched arm,
Yes, you gave it to me, my darling dear,
An injection of lies and a sterile sweet swab of fear.
Look at us, with our gouged out eyes,
Bound and willfully wrong,
Look at us, bound by our blood and our veins,
Loot at us, choking on the blood of our cries,
And you, my queen, thy name is Justice,
And me, my queen, my name is Yours,
And us, my queen, with our gouged at eyes,
And the heavens, with the blood it pours,
You would think with this song called Blindness,
You would think with these lies called Love,
You would think with all the screams from above,
For a people so blind,
You would think.
You would think we would be better at you.
