Old buddies
Old pals
I hope you don't leave so soon now
Though I know your heart beats in odd ways
And car wrecks and cancer can take people away
Your my best friends
And I'd miss you for more than days
I know I must be careful about what I value
I know every object of hope is a potential gallows,
Save for the cross
But I don't know If I could handle that loss
As selfish as this may be
May I leave before any of you do
I'd rather be dead than alone
And I know I'm so close to
Old buddies
