Seclusion (Mon Premiere Villanelle) By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
I sell my soul for pennies on the pound
I kiss the lips of life, and taste my fate
I seek seclusion that is seldom found
My feet meet beaten paths upon the ground
I stumble, and at times I hesitate
I sell my soul for pennies on the pound
My shadow shares this space without a word
My ego urges me to reappear
I seek seclusion that is seldom found
The seasons change, and turn without a sound
Though the face of Fall holds hints of Winter near
I sell my soul for pennies on the pound
Never has such fine advice deterred
as the wisdom that warns foolish men to fear
And surly seek seclusion seldom found
These whispers I receive are quite profound
That wary voice that wills me still to wait
I sell my soul at pennies on the pound
And seek seclusion that is seldom found
