Hollows Shadows By aldo kraas, www.PoetryPoem.com/poet11586 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Dense the forest
thick of tree,
raised gnarled roots
choked by fern.
Hidden burrows, warren and set.
Coarse brambles spread to snag
and ivy tangles
flanking the hollows
now dappled in shadows.
In its heart
lichen shrouded granite slabs
that have no right to be there.
A toppled throne abandoned,
fortress walls crumbled,
consumed by centuries of loam.
Have I dreamt this vision birthed from imagination.
Did I serve there long ago?
