God Bless our veterans living and deceased
It is by God's grace and their willingness to service
that we are free
We also have to extended our Thank You
to the countries that have been and are our friends and allies
around the world
This is also a tribute to the Australia's veterans
and England's and Canada's veterans and others
If we who are left at home knew what
these brave men and women endure for us to be free
we would have a new zeal and love for those who sacrifice for us
I know there are somethings in this life that are worth fighting and dying for
Somethings we must take a stand for
Our freedoms of - worship - speech - assembly - movement - press - voting -
thought - and the right to bear arms
These are some freedoms our veterans went to war to preserve for us
We seem so willing to just give away these freedoms
What will be left for the next generation
Freedom is not free it is bought with the precious
blood and bravery of the ones who defend our great country
As Ronald Reagan said "Trust - but verify"
May God bless each of you
It is my prayer that one day we will all be at peace on this earth
Isaiah 2:4
And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people:
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
King James Bible
*I remember as a child my father talking of how brave the soldiers
from Australia and England and our other allies were.
He instilled a great love for those countries in my heart.
That love still lives there.
*Since I have been here at PoetryPoem I have met many veterans.
My admiration and affection for these brave and valiant heroes
have grown each time I hear from them.
They are warriors who know the hardship of war and serving our nation.
I stand and salute each one of you.
A few that I will mention here are:
Terry (alwaysawarrior)
Dan (dandy)
Jackie (jackspoems)
Howard (Kiltedcop)
AngelRose (FantasyIsland)
Edwin J. Smith (The Old Cowboy Poet)
Bernie (solidgold247) a new friend
George Platt, (wordrider1) another new friend
and of course my late silver haired honey Thomas Collier a Navy Man
These are just a few of our veterans that we have here on PoetryPoem.
There are many more.
God bless each of you
