virtually unread
So I put
poetry to bed
I wrote a poem
Filled with emotion
I might as well
Have put it in bottle
tossed it in the ocean
Words from God
Were hardly given
an encouraging nod
I wrote of love of country
Made a pledge of my stand
For all faiths
This is our land
Mountains high
to the rivers sand
Our colors have never ran
So those who hate
Are testing God's plan
