'' Affairs Are So Unforgiving ''

At the edge I hover,
My life is over,
The facts they cannot be denied,
I've given up my life in clover,
Inside my heart has now died.

I blamed the wife,
For all my strife,
It made me feel more empowered,
Though I knew it would cut her like a knife,
I refused to see I was the coward.

I had it all,
I'm now in a fall,
It was me, who took this stance,
What I did I know would appal,
I believed it was all worth the chance.

I loved being charmed,
But forewarned is forearmed,
Only if you dare to listen,
My mind said no one would ever be harmed,
An affair will make my life glisten.

Nobody will know,
My life will flow,
The truth need not ever come out,
The problem is the lies just grow,
It's a terrible feeling is doubt.

It's so unjust,
It causes disgust,
From the truth you just cannot hide,
When you realise it is but lust,
Your pleas for forgiveness are denied.

It is harmless fun?
Till you become undone,
The consequences hurt far more than you,
It's Russian Roulette with a full chamber gun,
The fallout you cannot subdue.

The end is nigh,
I will no longer lie,
My life is no longer worth living,
No one will mourn when I finally die,
