'' In Loving Memory Of My Poor Teeth ''

My poor mouth's in so much pain,
Those now gone I'll not regain,
Too late now it isn't funny,
Please do without the fairies money.

This terror it is self-inflicted,
To sugars we become addicted,
It's in everything we eat and drink,
Yet none of us stop to even think.

Sweets and food from childhood days,
Ignoring warnings nothing sways,
On us they daily take their toll,
Yet still we refuse to take control.

The warning signs we then ignore,
We treat them as a bloody chore,
A visit there we will forego,
That's until we're forced to show.

By that time it's far too late,
The end result we really hate,
You failed to take the positive action,
Oh my God another extraction.

The next appointment you then miss,
Then as you chew you ask, what's this,
Though you hate to face the truth,
In your hand's another tooth.

The dentist says without discretion,
I'll have to take a gum impression,
He tells me there is nothing left,
It's all my fault I feel bereft.

I'm sorry but I'm talking rot,
This has left my mouth distraught,
Once they're gone rest assured,
With a set of wallies you won't be cured.

This was worse than I had feared?
My face had all but disappeared;
Within my mouth they've laid a wreath,
