Let's make a start,
If painting is art,
Then poetry holds the same meaning,
In reality they cannot be kept apart,
As it's to a story both are leaning.
Beautiful and bold,
Their tale is told,
Each message emanates from within,
The beholder can see both lead and gold,
It can give them a scowl or a grin.
What's pleasing to you,
Can cause others ado,
That's the beauty of any portrayal,
What is the meaning you will accrue?
Will it be happiness or perhaps a betrayal?
The human mind,
Can see or be blind,
We can be such diverse creatures,
Some are cruel while others are kind,
Like art we have such varied features.
Life is bizarre,
Show who you are,
Of your work, there is nothing finer,
It is bespoke like that distant star,
Of that piece you are the designer.
As you write or paint,
Be it ugly or quaint,
What's within you is what you must seek,
Go all out regardless no need for restraint,
Like yourself,
