Sky blue... water blue... man blue... Mayan blue
from that which we came
to there where we've gone
all is blue... Mayan blue
dug from the earth; plucked from the ground
they have subdued the seven death
and opened wide the vault of light
So now we bath in the blue opaque
brewed in vats of stone
for as is below, so is above
and forever is the measure
for all that is blue... Mayan blue
We swab the quivering flesh with its bright shining eyes
the hot and bubbling pigment
while it cries and resists transformation
and cast it into the loving arms of Mother
her gaping womb coated
with the pigment of the ancestors
because forever is the measure
for all that is blue... Mayan blue
The flesh is eaten by everything alive
masticating and digesting the succulent husk
with eyes aglow and wagging tails
while eggs of ancient blue are deep beneath the ground
waiting to be found
the fossil remains of pompous hubris
and well intentioned blather
- the essences of dreams
because forever is the measure
for all that is blue... Mayan blue
So look within and watch the rivers of blue
hiding from light and yet still another face
as we once did, deep below her skin
only to pour forth from the rocks
and spread life in order to create the dead
so they can dream forever in the underworld
and watch the parade through a dull blue portal
because forever is the measure
for all that is blue... Mayan blue
To the clay from which I came
to the clay to where I go
this brief moment spent in the sun
was but to bleed a river of blood
red as life and raw as death
and return to the clay from which I came
and now my mind is disintegrating
into a blue dream
because forever is the measure
for all that is blue... Mayan blue
