Not for SharingI have just completed a poem, that I will refuse to share, Except with my wife, as she will understand and care, I faced my inner ghost, a spectre when I was a child, Leaving a legacy of intimidation, my sub conscious filed, As my thoughts were given credit, that now I define me, I'm able to understand better, that not all souls are free, Some people are a result of there own trials and pain, Not essentially physical but more a psychological chain, The animosity that I harboured, finally I can put to rest, Everything was a challenge, life doesn't equate to a test, Letting past memories go, can let some fresh reasoning in, In touch with the present this new renaissance to begin, That person is no longer with us, he is finally at peace, I'm at peace also, that festering resentment can cease, With understanding comes insight, forgiveness a gift, A declaration with myself a rancour to be cast adrift. ---------------------------------------- ( A previous poem was written of my childhood so I could come to terms about why I carried animosity for so long.
