All Alone

We may not feel lonely but
we are always alone
We came to this world alone,
we live and die alone

Loneliness is just a feeling but
being alone is the truth
Like being on a busy footpath
in a glass telephone booth

Though we all socialize, make
families and friendships
No soul, with true compassion,
shares our hardships

Best epitaph that I have seen
engraved on the headstone
“As I lie here surrounded by
people I am not alone”
