Being my age it was a shocker
Lawnmower! pushing a walker?
So I mowed the lawn
Spring has come with a task
To do the things I used to all I ask
Pruining fruit trees no more up the ladder
Lifting up the extention man did I get fatter
Now its my hands I can't use
All cut and bleeding and bruised
But to do my chores no excuses well be used
Everything is sore but the wheelchair I store
Three days of yard work one thing is sure
Today I am resting ain't going out that door
Who am fooling its been a half and hour
Haven't worked up a sweat to take my morning shower
It's spring outside and chores to be done
So outside aching muscles and the warming sun
What some call work this man calls fun
It is time for planting spring flowers done
After days and days of endless rain
The sun is out shining again
There's a deck out there to stain
