The Pecking Order

Hovering over the carcass
carrion birds have to wait
Wait patiently for the land
scavenger's hunger to sate

Land scavengers had to wait
till the hunters had their fill
They were lucky to find a little
bit leftover on the carcass still

This natural pecking order has
always been a fixed thing
Which never can be bypassed
by anyone or for anything

At the top of this natural pecking
order rules the Homo sapiens
Who can kill just for fun and
games anyone with his guns
