You were brought back to life with Christ,
So focus on the things from above;
Remember He was sacrificed,
In order to pour out His love.
Keep your mind on the things up there,
Rather than the things on this earth;
Give freely and showing you care,
Of heavenly things and their worth.
You have died with your life hidden,
Christ has secluded you from view;
For avoiding where forbidden,
In weaknesses I would construe.
Your life is now a part of Him,
And in glory He will appear;
Sharing with you vigor and vim,
As everything will be clear.
Put to death the world within you,
The perversion, passion and greed;
Your sexual sin you construe,
The lust mistaken as a need.
These sins are angering the Lord,
Causing you to disobey God;
For leaving Him and have ignored,
Never giving honor and laud.
You used to live a sinful life,
Filled with anger, cursing and hate;
For it was causing you much strife,
Possibly could have sealed your fate.
Stop all of your deceit and lies,
Get rid of what you use to be;
While removing your disguise,
So your true self others can see.
You have become a new person,
No longer as a Greek or Jew;
Rather a brother to the Son,
A relationship that is true.
