THE CHEMO OF LIFE

THE CHEMO OF LIFE

The sun hid not its face from the maiden of sand and seas
This place where slanted gates guard the dewy ground
Its radiant golden fingers hugged the giant oak trees
A nook where nature's pout outlines the shadowed eaves

The road stretched for miles, it seemed, in grooves of rust
A kaleidoscope of shapes on a carpet of dried brown
The leaves swirl as ballerinas with each windy gust
My painted understanding amid rustic swirls of dust

A place where I'm wrapped in nature's lone embrace
A place where I dream in imaginary fabrics of quiet
Death eludes me here in my private chosen place
Where I rest beneath images of God's MERCY and GRACE

Anyone can gently slide into this beautiful land of solitude
From unexpected darkness where things don't feel alright
Just walk through your own triangle and grasp the fortitude
