'' To Show Appreciation ''
It's nice to be nice,
But it does take its toll,
Let's be clear and concise,
It affects the soul.
If someone is rude,
Turn the other cheek,
Is it really good,
To show you are weak.
Yes, I help others,
If I see them in need,
But the truth this smothers,
When they won't do the deed.
All of my life,
I've went out of my way,
To ease others strife,
But it doesn't hold sway.
I don't do it for reward,
Just a thank you would do,
Does it not strike a chord?
That yes I mean you.
There are givers and takers,
In all walks of living,
Life's filled with fakers,
And those who love giving.
If you're given assistance,
Try to be fair,
Don't put up resistance,
Tell them you care.
Kindness and compassion,
Fill others with elation,
So let's make it the fashion,
