This was asked at a family function by Grandma
"If you came upon someone outnumbered and being beaten,
What would you do?
My Grandson said, "We live in Woodinville."
A hint that we lived in a bad neighborhood
I have been tested a couple of times
The first two of us were rivals for this young Co-ed
We stopped at a drive in for a burger
Four guys were pinned in a car
Outside the car kids were running up on the hood
and crushing the car
The co-ed said, "Are you just going to stand around."
My friend ran to a pay phone to call the cops
I was a Little older to enter college
I was a Veteran my friend a Politician
As you know Veterans do what they have to do
I a little more stupid outnumbered ten to one
Walked up to the biggest of the wreckers
In a loud voice of authority said, "What da heck is going on here?"
"It's his car and it wouldn't't start he wants it wrecked"
Walked to the window where the driver sat
Everyone was stopped looking at me
Was that fear or pity?
He showed me the registration of the car
The Police came, "Next time wait for us.
But kid you have ball-courage." I won the co-ed
Now married to the co-ed we were driving home
A man had a woman up against the wall at a tavern
He was punching her in the head
My bride once again---well you know!
I ran over grabbed the man and threw him against the wall
I was about to land a knockout punch when the lights went out
The assaulted had picked up a board and hit me in the head
The two lover drunks walked off holding hands
What would I do next time--Wait for the Police!
No, but I may be brave but not stupid
I would send the wife out to fight her own battles
