STAYING SHARP

STAYING SHARP

As time passes and I tend to look back
Things never seem to be quite as black,
I can no longer feel that acute pain
The one that would always drive me insane.

I have to sharpen my senses again
And feel the fragments that still remain,
The pain, the hurt and all so many lies
The ones the liar always decries.

Rose coloured spectacles I`ll throw away
So I`ll see the truth `til my dying day,
I must remember all that went on
`Til every ounce of my love has gone.

I can`t allow time to cloud my view
And cause the hurt that no one can undo,
I must stay sharp and remember the pain
So that love and trust I can once more attain.

This way I`ll never fall into that trap
So all my love and trust no one can sap,
I must see things for what they really were
And not imagine things that weren`t there.

So thank you dear friend for reminding me
That I should look back and really see,
It`s not a longing for the past that I crave
But remembering all the pain that person gave.
