It is only on the father's day
That a few children say
'I love you dad'
Most don't even remember
That they have a father
Makes one feel sad
Why do these special 'days' exist
Just like a funny checklist
Or maybe just a fad
Why can't we always love each other
Without these 'days' as a reminder
A thought to make one glad
