May Day
Sky was clear blue
Not a single cloud in view
Sun was shining bright
Bathing the land with golden light
Gentle breeze was blowing
Drying clothes on the line billowing
Tinkling laughter could be heard
Of the children playing in the yard
Such a tranquil day
In the middle of May
Who would think of anything disastrous
Happening on a day so lustrous
And nothing happened for that matter
Not a single cloud in view
Sun was shining bright
Bathing the land with golden light
Gentle breeze was blowing
Drying clothes on the line billowing
Tinkling laughter could be heard
Of the children playing in the yard
Such a tranquil day
In the middle of May
Who would think of anything disastrous
Happening on a day so lustrous
And nothing happened for that matter
