For HEDI
this is JUST a short poem, that i wish to write to you, from ME
HEDI, is a young lady from CHINA, here on the bus, heading to VEGAS, to visit her FRIEND
she is sitting here on the bus, besides me, and was so kind to listen to me, and a kind thoughtful ear to me she did, LEND
She is from CHINA, and was visiting, SAN- DIEGO, and now to LAS-VEGAS, for -VACATION
So im happy , her FRIENDSHIP, i have been BLESSED, to have WON
I have been reading her some of my simple poems, here on the BUS
she reads each one word by word, carefully, and , interestingly, not like most people who just read it in such of a quick--hurried-- RUSH
But she made me feel PROUD
as she read my simple poems, out- LOUD
She was -IMPRESSED
she said my POEMS- were -the -BEST
So this young lady of twenty-one--HEIDI, from CHINA
im just happy she decided to sit next to me on this grey hound BUS, and even talk with me, and give me her TIME-A
HEIDI, is her nick name that she gave to herself, her CHINESE, name is too hard to SAY
she plans on becoming a TEACHER of ENGLISH, as her WISH, as she told me TODAY
So when she returns to CHINA
she can tell her friends and family, that she met this guy on the bus, named JOHN, who was just as old as HER- GRANDPA
It was such of an HONOR-- PRIVILEGE--, and ---PLEASURE--, to meet such of a KIND-- THOUGHTFUL--,SMART--, and --BRIGHT-- young --LADY
now when she returns home to CHINA, she will have all my poems, to share, with others and come to SEE
She told me i looked like i was forty-eight
i told her soon in august i turn sixty, and she said, i cant believe that, what are you doing, and you look GREAT
I told her about my MISSION, to LOOSE- this -WEIGHT
and she said to ME- you- can- do -it, -and- change- your- FATE
So HEIDI, i wish you all of the very BEST- of -the- BEST-and wish you WELL
just know, and always remember, this is JOHN, on the BUS, and your kind, caring, thoughtful words, and sweet-loving- smile--, have made me feel very SWELL
