HOPE
I lay awake oft through the night
The food I ate had lost its bite.
They said that you would remain here
So I'd persist in anxious prayer.
I made my plans with faithless pride
To doze discomfort felt inside.
I tried to place You in that box,
And wish you’d bless my paradox.
Instead you woke my mind with ease
And showed me how my life you’d seize.
When I was overwhelmed or dazed
You found a way to calm unfazed.
When all around me's quickly changed
You show me that your plan’s arranged.
Whatever I am going through,
Your love still holds as priceless glue.
My future is a foggy swirl,
With you inside the precious pearl.
As long as I can focus there,
Then Hope will live and Trust can flare.
