How did it happen
Where did she go
My little baby
I just don`t know
Time took her back
And put her away
And left me with
A woman today
But I remember
How can I forget
That little baby
Is still my babe yet
Dark curly hair
Skin softly peach
A smile just lingering
Out of my reach
She suffered so much
But what could I do
With illness and such
I just nursed her through
She went of to school
With a tear and a cry
Don`t leave me Mummy
I heard with a sigh
Although she grew up
She never grew tall
Five foot my lassie
That`s about all
I watched her suffer
I felt her pain
And wished I could start
Her life over again
But now she is married
And has found some joy
Has one bonnie lass
And two handsome boys
They are all grown
And it`s hard to believe
That she is a grandma
So hard to conceive
Now she is happy
Let go of the past
My prayer is that
Her happiness lasts
Forever and ever
All down through the years
And she never finds reason
To cry bitter tears
Happy birthday my baby
May all dreams come true
I have just wanted
The best things for you.
Love you my lassie
With all I can give

And happily live.
