There was a time when my song was the only song that you could sing. Note upon note we built our melody and we always sang the same refrain. Our hearts met in a rare crescendo. But songs change and words are lost, melodies of old become old memories. Forgotten are the nights of fiery passion and forgotten are the sweet violin sounds of two who played songs to the stars. If we should meet again somewhere, would we stare sadly at the faces of lost love? Would we remember how songs were written or how we built melodies out of each other's notes? Would you remember that I was once your only song? Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
