'' Rotten To The Core ''

Economies are but tools,
With open ended rules,
Where the rich go rattling their tins,
Their paymasters, us, are treated as mules,
As the billionaire always wins.

Supply and demand,
They well understand,
Will dictate the price that you pay,
Something worth nothing will cost you a grand,
That's because we don't have a say.

Take diamonds and gold,
The way they are sold,
Is by the creation of limited supplies,
Though in abundance the dealers have a hold,
Overpriced is the rule that applies.

It's the same with food,
Water or wood,
Over supply they keep total control,
Everything they do is for their own good,
It's on us this is taking its toll.

I'm not being funny,
All our lives could be sunny,
For this product there is no need,
If we'd just exchange skills instead of money,
There'd be no such thing as greed.

We pay through the nose,
As their empire grows,
That's because we behave like mice,
What they say or do we will never oppose,
Their motives are clear and concise.

There's nothing surer,
Avarice is the procurer,
It's where covetousness springs to the fore,
As the rich get richer the poor get poorer,
  Capitalism is,
