Crackling thunder, and bolting and jolting lightening
is so loud, this morning as a burst of sonic boom

The rain started
but then too quickly stopped and parted

Still the southern california lands are so dry and parched
at least it was a blessing some rain this early morn, at least did start

Hopefully more rain, will follow suit
as this parched earth, and california, drought, needs rain, and more rain, to RE-BOOST

As a kid, i remember the Minnesota RAIN
and rumbling, thundering, flashing, crashing lightning the same

The rain would come pouring down
quenching, the ten thousand  Minnesota lakes all around, the state so abundantly found

So here in California state
we all pray and hope to quench this earth, and down pouring and nourishing rain, may sooner than latter, become our blessing and FATE
