Circled in space by
rose pedaled flowers
and the image of newly arrived Angels
Romanced by the tears in the poets' eyes
A bird with broken wings
Still tries but cannot fly
In the distance a new born baby cries
And black lives have meaning
Yet Detroit and Chicago fade in mist
For is Seattle next I cannot resist
Pray for my black brother and sisters
Who agree the whole world lives in shame
For a world of drugs and killing survive
Separating love from sins
Finding solace in the bitter winds
And the innocent pay for our sins
of resisting the will to end evil criminals
The Eagles soars the Ravens call out
End this inhumanity least I lose
To the blank spaces that is writer's block
The Veterans and flag, amongst those who do not stand
And all of this this poet cannot understand
For it is not the flag or Country
It is the criminals and those of evil intend
The seasons written come and go
Rain and sleet and cascading snow
Floating in amongst Angels reality fades
And for this poet a poet dies for peace
In the background Roy Orbinson sings
"Im crying over you!"
Be it black, white yellow or a fool!
