Sacred Heart

Someone waiting in a garden of roses
Smiling through the haze of morning
Eyes full of the steadily growing light,
White dress and dark hair illumined,
Steps steady and poetic, like dance;
She brings her love to me gently,
Forgetting all those times that hurt her
That broke a heart that was sacred.
How could the world not bow to her,
How could I not die for her,
Sweetness in a temple of pure beauty,
Siren song to lift me higher than the stars?
I am forever walking into your soul
Deeper and deeper into your mystery,
I feel you nearer than my very breath,
Steady flow of love perfuming the air.
