Once upon a time there was a baby
Who came home so fast in Nanna`s car
Now that baby is a little lady
A bright and shining twinkling little star
Her hair is light as sunshine in the heavens
Her smile as cute rosebud mouths can be
Her eyes are blue as the skies above
And she is such a lovely sight to see
She knows her letters and she loves her stories
Read her a fairy tale she`ll be your friend
But if you start then you must always finish
You must read until the very end
One day she will take all that life can offer
What`er she wants to be then she shall be
For this bonnie loving little lassie
Will live her life so happy and so free
I write this poem for her upon her birthday
Send it to this great grandchild of mine
Sing to her a happy birthday darling
I am so happy that you`re one of mine
One day when you get a little older
You`ll come and see your Grams here in her land
Bringing all the joy that you have in you
You shall be the leader of the band
Have a happy happy day my darling
Hope each dream you wish for does come true
Thinking of you my special lady
And sending all my heart and love to you
