I had forgotten

I had forgotten what it meant to be lonely
having been lonely for so long...
not missing that "kiss" goodnight
not yearning for the warmth of a lover
forgetting what its like being friendly with another
to pass these empty days.

I had forgotten what it meant to be lonely
driving through places that no one has heard of
meeting people that havn't heard of me
visiting places of sweet memory
and bitter regret
where some paths should never have met.
