Tropical Snowflakes on Wings( Queensland butterfly invasion ) With paper gossamer wings and a heliconian eye, Carried gently on the breeze, as they fluttered by, Appearing en masse, hence the warm winds brings, Butterflies aplenty like tropical snowflakes on wings, Blown east from the desert, migrating to the coast, As they float around trees, translucent as a ghost, A rare spectacle which makes you sit back in awe, To marvel at their beauty, observing nature's law, Moving canvas of colour, gives each wing a design, Catching one's eye like a passion flower on a vine, We may not see this display for another decade or so, We rejoiced in their coming, now sad to see them go, Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
