I Have Changed My Mind (waiting un-patiently for Spring)

their skeleton arms embrace the sky
the quivering trees have lost their leaves
and I have shed my memories

the golden halcyon days are gone
the sun is out of town
and I wonder when the wind will be kind
it does nothing but remind me of
its hissing cruelty

I may be winter born
but I have changed my mind
I am no longer a Winter's Child
this child has gone underground
and waits un-patiently
for her Spring
instead.
