They place wreaths at the Cenotaph
Bow their heads and turn away
Just another task done and then
Proceed with the rest their day
I wonder quite often
Would there be more jaw jaw jaw
If those who declared it
Had to fight their own wars.
Would differences be sorted
And solutions found instead
If our glorious leaders
Had to risk their own heads.
Leaders from the past
Led their own men into battle
Not just treated their troops
As expendable cattle.
An Oxbridge degree
May be just fine
But it counts for zilch
Standing on the front line.
They might find the cost
Just a little too dear
If they led from the front
Not just skulked in the rear.
We are led by parasites and cowards,
Pimps, vagabonds, intellectual whores
Who might think just a little more of peace
If they had to fight their own wars.
